Sophie is a scenic artist and scene designer from the San Francisco Bay Area. She started working in theatre at the age of 12 with Marin Summer Theatre. In 2019, Sophie received her BFA in Theatre Arts and minor in Art History from Southern Oregon University. After working as a scenic charge for a few years, Sophie received her MFA in Scenic Art from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Sophie finds joy in collaborating with other artists, discovering new techniques, problem solving, and teaching others the intricacies of scenic art.
While not at work, Sophie enjoys collecting handmade mugs, visiting local coffee shops, listening to audiobooks, traveling to new places, and rewatching "Seinfeld". Sophie also enjoys printmaking, collage, and making cardboard hats.
